The Syn-Skin uses SCS silicone infused SmoothSkin neoprene compressed to the legal thickness of 0.3mm. The scapular panels on the back uses Lycra and are designed to increase flexibility and decrease chaffing.
As with all swim skins, the Syn-Skin is designed for non-wetsuit swims and can be used on the bike. It is not recommended for use on the run simply because it doesn't offer great ventilation. In cold weather races, this is not a problem, but in warm weather, overheating of the body is a concern. The Syn-Skin is designed without a pad, since it is most commonly worn over race clothing during the swim. It is not uncommon to keep the skin on during the bike leg, on chilly mornings.
